Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Fish and Chip Shop team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where you will gain valuable experience in food preparation and kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent service and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position is suitable for those looking to develop their culinary skills within a friendly team setting.

Duties

Prepare and cook fish, chips, and other menu items according to company recipes and standards
Assist with food preparation, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service
Serve customers at the counter or via takeaway orders with professionalism and courtesy
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Manage stock levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the shop

Qualifications

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting
Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and kitchen operations
