The Opportunity

The post is for a Planning Enforcement & Compliance Officer within Derby City Council’s busy Development Management Team to deal with breaches of planning control, with a specific emphasis on the city centre and listed building issues and contraventions.

The service is based on an ethos of pro-active and proportionate responses to breaches of planning control, and the successful candidate will be a proven communicator and negotiator with established people skills.

What you’ll be doing

The post-holder will be able to effectively co-ordinate and communicate all complaints with colleagues from across the Council and beyond.

The post-holder will be conversant with raising and serving enforcement notices, stop notices, breach of conditions notices, injunctions, and summonses.

About you

The post demands an enthusiastic motivated person with sound organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with all service users.
