Full job description

The role

The role will lead the end‑to‑end conveyancing process within the Mortgage Sales team, overseeing property sales and transfers arising from repossessions, LPCA Receiverships, or debt recovery. The role ensures all property transactions are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with relevant legislation, lender requirements, and internal policies.

They will manage the Mortgage Sales conveyancing team, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and ensure cases progress to completion within required timeframes to support effective debt recovery.

Main responsibilities

To lead and manage the Mortgage Sales, conveyancing team.
Manage the cases of the team and your own cases effectively and efficiently using the relevant case management and other IS resources
Manage the conveyancing workflow for repossessed, LPCA Receiverships, or recovered properties, ensuring smooth progression from instruction to completion.
Oversee title checks, searches, sales packs, contract drafting, enquiries and completion logistics.
Ensure all conveyancing activity adheres to relevant legislation (e.g. Land Registration Act, AML, GDPR), lender requirements, regulatory requirements FCA, SRA, CLC and company governance.
Act as escalation point for complex or high‑risk cases, including disputed titles, adverse entries, leasehold issues, and restrictive covenants.
Identify risks or delays in the transaction process and take proactive action to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate and timely case updates within internal case management systems.

Skills and qualifications

The role holder will need the following skills and experience

Familiar with working in a similar debt recovery environment (desirable)
Experience with lenders, asset managers (desirable)
Strong conveyancing experience, ideally in a recoveries, repossessions, or litigation‑linked property environment. (desirable)
Proven experience in managing a conveyancing team or significant experience in senior conveyancing roles. (desirable)
In‑depth understanding of title review, property sales processes, and legal documentation.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
Strong problem‑solving skills and sound commercial judgement.
A high attention to detail and accuracy
Self-confidence and ability to demonstrate initiative
Ability to grasp things quickly and easily, and self-motivated
Enthusiastic with a positive, can do attitude, Friendly and helpful approach
