SALARY: £12.71 per hour
JOB TYPE: Permanent, Part-time hours available
Working Days: must be able to work - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and/or Saturday.
We have 2 positions available, offering 30 hours or 20.25 hours.
Role 1 - Monday 10hrs, Wednesday 10hrs and Friday 10hrs (30 hours per week)
Role 2 - Thursday 10hrs, Friday 6hrs and Saturday 4.25hrs (20.25 hours per week)

We are seeking receptionists to join our fabulous, hard-working, and supportive team at Aspiro Healthcare. We have shifts available Monday - Friday between 07:45 and 18:30. We are also looking for team members to work Saturdays from 08:45 to 13:00.
We provide care across our Hollybrook, Sinfin, Haven and Parkfields practices in Derby. They are fast paced and busy. We need passionate and proactive people who thrive in the variety and pace of a busy general practice.
The purpose of the role is to perform a high-quality reception and administration service to ensure patient satisfaction, providing excellent service and maximum contribution to practice efficiency and effectiveness in line with practice policies. Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all members of the Aspiro team and our patients is fundamental.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual, who has strong receptionist or administration experience - along with the following requirements:
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- The ability to use and operate a computer-based system.
- Knowledge of working with systmone would be advantageous.
- Be willing to learn and progress.

Job Description and Person Specification
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Job Summary:
To be a member of the Reception and Admin team in assisting patients in obtaining healthcare appropriate to their needs in a willing and helpful manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a receptionist in receiving patients in a friendly, helpful manner directing them to the appropriate health care professional
- Make surgery appointments for patients, either in person or by telephone
- Make urgent hospital transport arrangements when required
- Respond to all queries from or in relation to our patients or other visitors, where necessary consulting with the doctor
- Pass accurate and timely messages to the doctors and other members of the primary health care team
- Ensure that patients without appointments but who need “urgent consultations” are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner
- Ensure that anyone requesting treatment in a medical emergency is provided with the appropriate care as quickly as possible
- Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover, ensure procedures are completed prior to consultation
- Issue prescriptions and other certificates discretely and securely
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, arrange appointments, accept payment and issue receipt for payment
- Assist in chaperoning with clinicians when necessary
General Administration
- Organise and arrange recall of patients at clinicians’ requests
- Undertake administrative duties in relation to chronic disease / at risk registers as specified by the Operations manager.
- Take, record and action telephone messages promptly, accurately and appropriately
- Record requests for home visits on the computer and take appropriate action for urgent calls
- Extract records for other projects and re-file records accurately
- File hospital correspondence and letters in medical records to current procedural standards if required
- Take and prepare requests for repeat prescriptions in person/post if required and enter accurately in medical records
- Prepare computerised prescriptions for collection by the patient according to the current protocol if required
- Record medical reports from the deputising service and record in the patient’s medical records
- Input/maintain patients’ clinical data on the clinical computer system
- Check and file records received from PCSE (Registrations) for new patients
- Actively participate in relevant audit topics
- Extract information to assist in completion of targets returns for the PCSE
- Undertake referrals to community and hospital providers
- Operate appropriate functions of the clinical system
- Support the practice when required by processing and filing patient specific correspondence if required
- Ensure security of data at all times
General Responsibilities
- Maintain close and effective communication with colleagues
- Update computer medical records as required in a timely manner
- Help to keep waiting rooms tidy and comfortable

- Occasionally secure premises at the end of the day, if last to leave, ensuring that the building is totally secure, internal lights are off and alarm is activated
