Job Purpose
The Social Enterprise Officer will support HURT in developing and delivering social enterprise activities, community projects, events and engagement opportunities that contribute to the organisation’s charitable aims.
The role will be varied and will require someone who can manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while remaining organised, creative and focused on delivering high-quality outcomes.
The post holder will play an important role in organising events, developing social media and digital communications, engaging with communities and partners, and identifying opportunities that support HURT’s development and social impact.
The role requires a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, discretion and respect, particularly when working with people who may share personal or sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
Social Enterprise & Project Development
- Support the development and delivery of HURT’s social enterprise projects and activities.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, actions and deliverables are managed effectively.
- Support projects from initial ideas and planning through to delivery and evaluation.
- Identify opportunities for new activities, partnerships and initiatives that support HURT’s charitable aims.
- Contribute ideas and creative approaches to developing HURT’s social enterprise work.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting of projects.
- Maintain accurate records and project documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, community groups and external partners.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with HURT’s policies, values and objectives.
Events & Activities
- Plan, organise and support the delivery of events, workshops, activities and community engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venues, suppliers, speakers, volunteers, promotion and resources.
- Support the promotion of events to encourage participation.
- Work with community members, partner organisations and other stakeholders to develop successful activities.
- Assist with the smooth running of events on the day.
- Gather feedback and evaluate events to identify improvements.
- Represent HURT professionally at external events, meetings and networking opportunities.
Social Media & Communications
- Develop creative and engaging content for HURT’s social media channels.
- Support the day-to-day management and scheduling of social media content.
- Create posts, stories, campaigns and promotional materials.
- Promote HURT’s projects, activities, events and achievements.
- Help capture appropriate photographs, videos and other content.
- Ensure appropriate consent is obtained before using photographs, personal stories or other identifiable information.
- Ensure all social media and communications reflect HURT’s values, charitable purpose and professional standards.
- Support website, newsletters and other digital communications where required.
- Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to improve reach and participation.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Develop positive, respectful relationships with community members, volunteers, beneficiaries and partner organisations.
- Encourage participation in HURT’s projects, events and activities.
- Listen to the needs, views and experiences of the communities HURT supports.
- Support inclusive opportunities that enable people to participate and contribute.
- Develop relationships with local organisations, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for partnership and collaborative working.
- Represent HURT positively and professionally within the wider community.
