Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pot Washer to join our busy hospitality team in Rushton at The Thornhill Arms. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen by efficiently washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, and have a keen eye for detail to support our culinary operations and ensure a smooth workflow. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry and contribute to a welcoming dining environment.

Responsibilities

Efficiently wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods.
Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and stored correctly for use.
Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and surrounding surfaces.
Assist with organising clean dishes and supplies for service staff and kitchen staff.
Follow health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards in the kitchen environment.
Support other kitchen duties as required to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Skills

Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards.
Experience in cooking or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential.
Familiarity with hospitality or hotel settings can be beneficial.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Reliable team player with good communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary support and hospitality operations. This role offers a vital support function within our team, ensuring that all kitchenware is maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
