Full job description

A Front of House (FOH) Assistant Manager supports the business owners in overseeing daily venue operations. Core responsibilities include leading the FOH team, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff schedules, and enforcing health and safety standards. They are required to collaborate with the Back of House (BOH) team to ensure excellent food standards for our customers. They will also handle escalated guest inquiries.

Role Overview

As a Front of House Assistant Manager, you are the heartbeat of our daily operations. You will work closely with the Business Owners and Back of House team to lead, inspire, and develop our customer-facing team. Your primary goal is to ensure that every guest receives a seamless, welcoming, and memorable experience from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Development

Train & Mentor: Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new FOH staff. Conduct ongoing training to maintain high service and presentation standards.
Scheduling: Manage and optimize staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for peak service times while managing labour budgets.
Performance Management: Set clear expectations, provide daily feedback, and assist the owners with performance appraisals.

2. Guest Experience & Operations

Service Excellence: Lead by example on the floor. Greet guests, oversee service flow, and ensure all customer needs are promptly met.
Complaint Resolution: Handle and de-escalate complex or escalated customer complaints quickly and professionally.
Daily Operations: Run pre-shift briefings to communicate daily specials, VIP guests, and allergen/dietary information to the team.

3. Administration & Financials

Cash & Inventory: Manage daily tills, safe drops, and cash handling procedures. Oversee inventory of FOH supplies and merchandise.
Reporting: Assist the management team in generating daily/weekly sales and service reports.

4. Compliance & Health & Safety

Safety Standards: Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations.
Presentation: Maintain strict housekeeping and presentation standards in all public and dining areas.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory or assistant management experience in hospitality, events, or retail.
Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities, with a proven track record of motivating staff.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise seamlessly with the Back of House/Kitchen teams.
Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business demands.

Pay: £24,420.00-£36,000.00 per year
