Full job description

Price Express Transport Limited is a well-established Specialist Handling transport company, primarily delivering commercial catering equipment, IT cabinets and cash machines. We operate a large fleet of 3.5t – 18t vehicles nationwide, from our main depots in Barnsley /Doncaster and sites in Felbridge, Glasgow, Bristol and Telford.

We currently have the following permanent vacancy at our depot in Barnsley, S75;

Transport Planner

Responsible for acting as main point of contact in the office for vehicle route planning, collections and trunking and dealing with operational issues on a day to day basis. Hours of work will be 10:00-18:45 Monday to Friday, duties include;

Planning the delivery and collection vehicles and driving teams in line with customer and company procedures to maximise efficiency, revenue and service level.
Managing loads on the TMS system and liaising with Customer service team over booking in deliveries and handling customer queries or delivery delays / issues.
Assisting the warehouse team to ensure accurate capacity and loading of the vehicles.
Managing driving team timesheets, holiday requests and daily communications
Promoting and supporting Health & Safety and compliance within the site
Supporting the Regional Operations Manager, Warehouse and Transport Managers as required.

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent communication skills with Supervisor experience and the ability to influence and manage team behaviour and performance.
A positive approach
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and multi-task
Work well as part of a team and independently to meet operational timescales
Good geographical knowledge and understanding of tachograph and Operator licence responsibilities
Good IT Skills

The salary range is dependant on experience.
