Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cycle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for bicycles, ensuring all cycles are maintained, repaired, and serviced to the highest standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to cycling enthusiasts and customers alike. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining a safe and efficient workshop for our 100 loan bikes.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of bicycles to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns
Perform repairs and maintenance on various bicycle components, including gears, brakes, wheels, and frames
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and adjustments
Assemble new bicycles from parts, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules
Assist customers with technical advice and product recommendations when needed
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in bicycle repair or similar fields
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for mechanical work
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bicycles or parts
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical aptitude
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Prior experience working with cycling equipment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
