Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Full-time | Permanent
Salary: £14.50 - £16.50 per hour + sleep-in allowance

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join our warm and welcoming

children’s home, supporting young people with emotional behavioural difficulties (EBD). At West Valley Home, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where

children can thrive.

As a Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in leading day-to day shifts, providing direct care, and ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, consistency, and

positive outcomes for our young people.

Your Role

Lead shifts, ensuring all care and safeguarding standards are maintained.
Provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring to Residential Support Workers.
Support with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
Build trusting relationships with young people, promoting resilience, life skills, and independence.
Maintain clear, accurate records and contribute to reports for reviews and inspections.
Actively contribute to the home’s development and continuous improvement.
Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted standards, regulations, and organisational policies.
Shift pattern: (15-hour shifts) may be required to work additional hours when assigned

a sleep-in to meet the needs of the home.

Requirements

Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting.
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation, and Ofsted frameworks.
Leadership or shift-leading experience desirable.
Resilient, empathetic, and able to model positive behaviour to young people and staff.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
