Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Digger Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy machinery to assist with various earthmoving tasks on-site. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with relevant experience to contribute to large-scale projects while developing their skills further.

Duties

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery with precision and safety awareness
Assist with site preparation, excavation, and grading activities as directed
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance
Follow all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and site protocols
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage
Support logistical operations through commercial driving when required, including transporting materials or machinery around the site

Experience

Proven experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery in a construction environment
Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance
Valid commercial driving licence is desirable for transporting equipment or materials between sites
Familiarity with health and safety standards related to heavy machinery operation
Prior experience working on large-scale construction projects is advantageous but not essential

This role is ideal for motivated individuals who are organised, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to successful project completion. Applicants should possess relevant operational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Pay: £170.00-£180.00 per day
