The role
As a Production Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll be responsible for leading and developing a team of production professionals to safely deliver critical work packages against safety, quality, cost and schedule targets. You'll translate business priorities into operational plans, ensuring people, equipment and resources are deployed effectively to achieve production objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact, driving continuous improvement, operational performance and workforce development while contributing to nationally important defence programmes.
Day-to-day you'll be required to:
Leading day-to-day production activities to ensure delivery of contractual commitments and production objectives.
Setting clear priorities and performance expectations while coordinating activities across multiple disciplines and departments.
Monitoring production performance against key targets and implementing recovery plans where required.
Championing a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
Developing team capability through coaching, performance management, engagement and workforce planning activities.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Production Supervisor
Proven experience leading and managing teams within a production, manufacturing, engineering, shipbuilding or industrial environment.
Experience delivering against safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation and production specifications.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and people leadership skills.
Qualifications for the Production Supervisor
ONC, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification.
Time-served engineering, manufacturing or production background with significant relevant industry experience.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety qualification – desirable
ILM Level 3/5, CMI or another recognised leadership qualification – desirable
Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, ERP systems (such as IFS) or experience within complex manufacturing, shipbuilding, defence or multi-disciplined production environments – desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
