Full job description

An exciting opportunity to join our multi-award winning team.

Saltmarine Cars are looking for a practical and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with good mechanical knowledge who enjoys working across a range of vehicles. You’ll be responsible for carrying out routine servicing and basic mechanical repairs, as well as preparing new and used vehicles to a high standard for sale.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete routine servicing and general maintenance work
Carry out basic mechanical repairs
Prepare new and used vehicles for sale
Fit and replace tyres
Complete wheel alignments
Identify and report any additional repair or maintenance requirements
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and keen to develop their skills. Applications are welcomed from experienced mechanics and technicians, and 3rd-year apprentices will also be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

A relevant Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent practical workshop experience
Good working knowledge of routine vehicle servicing and basic mechanical repairs
Full UK driving licence
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail

Applications will also be considered from candidates currently completing the third year of a recognised automotive apprenticeship.

Desirable:

Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Previous experience fitting tyres and carrying out wheel alignments
Experience preparing new or used vehicles for sale
Relevant hybrid or electric-vehicle awareness training

£22,500 to £30,000 depending on experience + bonus
