The Project Manager leads the operational delivery of the Hub’s mission, moving the organisation from a volunteer-led initiative into a recognised centre of excellence. You are responsible for implementing the objectives set out in the Hub’s long-term strategy, overseeing a diverse portfolio of community projects, and ensuring the financial and legal resilience of the organisation in line with current UK government legislation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Strategic Leadership & Project Management

Oversee the delivery and growth of the Hub’s core strategic pillars, which currently include:
Community Action & Leadership: Incubating groups led by individuals with lived experience to turn personal challenges into community solutions.
Wellbeing & Reintegration: Managing trauma-informed pathways for adult stabilisation and social inclusion.
Youth Engagement: Coordinating open-access youth work and civic participation for young people.
Cultural Infrastructure: Providing the professional framework and safety systems for community arts and signature local events.
Educational Provision: Managing commissioned alternative education and accredited training cohorts.
Ensure all projects meet the performance indicators and milestones defined for the current strategic period.

2. Fundraising & Financial Sustainability

Identify and secure diverse funding streams to ensure long-term organisational stability and reduce over-reliance on single sources.
Manage applications and reporting for national grant-making bodies, arts organisations, and local authority contracts.
Develop and oversee earned income opportunities, including commissioned services, corporate organisations, and space hire.
Support the Board in building unrestricted reserves through public giving and donation campaigns.

3. People & Volunteer Management

Provide effective line management and HR for Hub staff and the wider volunteer network.
Foster a culture of "mutual aid" where service users are supported to transition into leadership and staff roles.
Implement professional development and training models to upskill local practitioners and volunteers.

4. Compliance & Safeguarding

Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all activities adhere to statutory guidance and current UK government legislation.
Maintain legal compliance across Health & Safety, Data Protection (UK GDPR), and insurance requirements for all Hub-hosted groups.
Manage relationships with local authorities to maintain framework status for any commissioned provision.

5. Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Represent the Hub at local government, civic, and partnership meetings.
Build collaborative networks with local employers, colleges, and health services to create seamless support pathways for participants.
Ensure that the voices of the community, particularly young people and those with lived experience, are represented in decision-making.

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
