Job Description:

Join an exciting, growing and independent practice to benefit from the personal touch of a family business within the security of a successful company.

Due to practice growth we are looking for a Full Time Receptionist/Animal Care Assistant to join our busy and customer focused veterinary practice in Billingshurst. The role will consist of an average of a 40 hour week, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am-6.30pm (shift times will vary) with Saturdays on a rota basis.

Our ideal candidate would be patient, friendly, caring and professional with both owners and their pets, efficient and organised and able to work hard and multi-task at busy times.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's diary efficiently.
Handle phone calls and email enquiries, providing accurate information about services and procedures.
Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area and waiting room.
In-patient care – toileting, feeding, grooming. Monitoring and providing supportive care as per veterinary surgeon/veterinary nurses instructions.
Preparing theatre, cleaning between patients and re set up, cleaning and packing kits and other supplies required for procedures.
Cleaning and preparing patient accommodations
Restraint/manual handling of patients for procedures
Maintain cleanliness, neatness and Infection control of reception areas, consultation rooms and clinical areas – to include restocking.
Running internal lab tests

Qualifications

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment, would be beneficial but not expected.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
Familiarity with appointment scheduling
