Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and a keen eye for colour and finish. Applicants should be reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
Mixing colours and matching shades to meet client specifications
Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety
Managing tools and materials efficiently, maintaining a clean work environment
Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
Strong knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating materials
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Good organisational skills with the ability to plan tasks effectively
Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between sites
Ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions is advantageous
Reliable with good attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
Be able stay away at times
