We're looking for an ambitious and hands-on Club Manager to lead our Golders Green club and play a key role in its continued growth and success.
This is a varied leadership role combining sales, customer service, team management, and operational oversight. You'll be responsible for driving membership growth, supporting and developing your team, and ensuring the club operates safely, professionally, and efficiently every day.
You'll be the face of the club for our families, the leader of your team, and the person who sets the standard for customer experience, accountability, and operational excellence.
The Role
As Club Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the club.
You will lead membership growth, customer service, team accountability, recruitment, administration, and operational standards while ensuring the club remains safe, professional, and welcoming at all times.
Working alongside the Swim Coordinator, you will support and develop the swim teaching team while ensuring the club has the staffing, systems, and leadership required to operate successfully.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires strong organisation, commercial awareness, and excellent people skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Membership Growth
- Respond to all enquiries via phone, email, and online channels
- Convert enquiries into long-term members
- Drive occupancy, retention, and membership growth
- Follow up leads and maximise conversion opportunities
- Build relationships with local schools, nurseries, and community organisations
- Support club marketing initiatives and events
- Monitor club performance and take action to achieve growth targets
Customer Experience
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every stage of the member journey
- Build strong relationships with families and swimmers
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Ensure all calls, emails, and customer enquiries are responded to promptly
- Maintain the premium standards expected of the Get Set Swim brand
Team Leadership & Recruitment
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members
- Support and manage the swim teaching team
- Work closely with the Swim Coordinator to maintain high teaching standards
- Conduct probation reviews and performance conversations
- Ensure team members remain accountable to company standards and expectations
- Coordinate staffing and ensure lessons are adequately covered
- Foster a positive, professional, and supportive culture
Operations & Administration
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the club
- Ensure management cover is in place whenever the club is operating
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and administrative systems
- Monitor occupancy, staffing levels, and operational performance
- Ensure operational procedures are followed consistently
- Work closely with Head Office and support functions
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain the highest standards of health and safety across the club
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
- Complete and review daily operational checks
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure the pool plant room is maintained correctly and safely
- Investigate incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

Essential
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Experience managing competing priorities in a busy environment
- Confident using digital systems and software
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work weekends
Desirable
- Experience within swimming, leisure, fitness, hospitality, childcare, or education
- Swimming teaching qualification (STA, Swim England, ASA or equivalent)
- Previous experience working within a swim school or aquatic environment
- Safeguarding training
- First Aid qualification
- Pool Plant Operator qualification
