Full job description

Legal Secretary (Residential Conveyancing)

Edinburgh

To circa £32,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-established Edinburgh based legal firm with an outstanding reputation.

You will be working in the Residential Conveyancing department, providing additional support to the team of busy fee earners.

Knowledge and experience of supporting within a residential conveyancing team is essential.

Duties include:

· Undertaking the administrative components of opening new client matters such as letters of engagement, TOB and AML

· Liaising with clients and answering queries regarding transactions

· Requesting searches from Registers of Scotland, completing registration forms and LBTT returns

· Typing various documents including letters, reports and presentations

· Coordinating travel arrangements when required

· File and diary management

· Ensuring general organisation and smooth running of matters, including improving existing procedures

Essential criteria:

· Previous experience of working as a Legal Secretary within a Residential Conveyancing Department

· Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills

· Excellent IT skills including MS Office and digital dictation

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to form rapport with clients

· Proactive with excellent organisational skills
