Job Description:
As a Senior Carer at Conifer Lodge Residential Home, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding care to our residents. Reporting directly to the Deputy Care Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting the care team, maintaining the highest standards of care delivery, and fostering a nurturing environment where residents can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:
Provide leadership and guidance to care staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Supervise the care team, delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Conduct regular team meetings, providing updates, training, and support as necessary.
Resident Care:
Deliver person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans, respecting residents' preferences, dignity, and independence.
Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the relevant healthcare professionals.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily records, medication administration, and incident reports.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, health and safety guidelines, and best practices in care delivery.
Participate in audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain compliance.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies, to ensure holistic care for residents.
Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among care staff, promoting a positive working environment.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in care delivery and service provision, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance the resident experience.
Actively participate in training and professional development opportunities, staying abreast of best practices and advancements in elderly care.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience in a care environment, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
Medication Level 2 certificate is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with residents, families, and colleagues.
Strong leadership abilities, with a compassionate and supportive approach to managing and motivating a care team.
Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in elderly care.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents.
