Research Support Officer (Pre-Award)

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting Kew’s world-leading research by managing a diverse portfolio of research funding and knowledge exchange bids from development through to submission. Working closely with researchers and professional services colleagues, you will provide expert pre-award support, helping to develop high-quality, competitive proposals and ensuring they meet funder requirements, institutional policies, and compliance standards.

As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of UK and international funding opportunities while contributing to the successful delivery of research projects that address global scientific and environmental challenges. This is a varied and rewarding role offering the chance to build strong relationships across the organisation, develop specialist knowledge of the research funding landscape, and make a tangible impact on Kew’s research ambitions.

Educated to degree level (or with equivalent professional experience), you will be a proactive and collaborative professional with the ability to provide expert funding advice, interpret complex requirements, and build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, maintain high standards of accuracy, and take a solution-focused approach to supporting research excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement

Whether you're a recent graduate looking to start your career in research administration, or an experienced professional with a background in research funding, we'd love to hear from you. This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

The salary for this position is £34,216 - £37,966 per annum, depending on skills and experience [Band C]
