Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing essential assistance and guidance to individuals, particularly children, in a caring and supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in fostering positive development, offering mentorship, and creating a safe space for those in need. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in mentoring, working with children, and teaching within a supportive organisation committed to making a difference.

Responsibilities

Offer personalised support to individuals, helping them achieve their personal goals and develop life skills
Mentoring children and young people, fostering confidence and independence
Assist with daily activities, including educational tasks and recreational activities
Support behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies
Collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure the wellbeing of those supported
Create engaging learning opportunities through teaching and guidance tailored to individual needs
Maintain accurate records of progress and activities undertaken during shifts
Promote a positive environment that encourages growth, learning, and safety

Qualifications

Experience or interest in working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable
Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ development
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative
Organised with good time management skills
Relevant qualifications or training in teaching or social care are advantageous but not essential
