Salary: Competitive + driver bonus scheme + fully-funded continued CPC held on a working day
Working Hours :Monday- Friday 7:00am-16:30pm and alternative Saturdays (7:00am-11:30am)

At Grundon, we are on the lookout for a dynamic, passionate, and driven individual to join our Artic movements team based in Banbury as a Class 1 LGV Driver.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission by developing your skills and learning to drive and operate a range of waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, in line with company standards. You will contribute to delivering a dependable waste collection and disposal service across multiple locations, ensuring the safety of yourself, your crew, and the public. With a strong commitment to customer care, you’ll help us maintain the highest standards of service at all times.

What will you do

Carry out daily vehicle checks, complete defect/damage reports, and follow the correct escalation process.
Comply with tachograph legislation, Working Time Directive, and all company SOPs, risk assessments, and H&S requirements (including PPE).
Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins, and non-conforming waste promptly, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed with job tickets.
Maintain vehicles to a high standard, including cleanliness and weekly wheel nut torque checks.
Provide excellent service to colleagues and customers, demonstrating reliability, and strong timekeeping.
Be flexible towards working hours and be available for occasional overtime to meet business and depot needs
Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health and safety and employment.
Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the job holder’s Manager/Supervisor or the Board of Directors that are within the skills and capabilities of the job holder.

About You

Valid Class 1 (category C+E) licence
Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
Up-to-date Driver's Digi Card
Strong knowledge of analogue and digital tachographs, current driving and working time regulations, and the Highway Code.
Basic understanding of relevant health & safety and, ideally, waste legislation.
Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and a professional, positive attitude.
Able to interpret maps and directions confidently and work independently or as part of a team.
Demonstrates behaviours aligned with company values, showing flexibility and a willingness to undertake additional tasks, hours, and training as required.
