We are seeking a Manual Machine Operator to join our team at our Glasgow workshop. This role will report to Workshop Foreman Propulsion and it is a fulltime role.

The Manual Machine Operator will be responsible for operating manual machines on different propulsion equipment

What you will do:

Operate manual machining equipment to parts and components according to specifications.
Prepare products for machining by cleaning and masking as required.
Inspect machined parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including process parameters, materials used, and inspection results.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would have:

Technical or vocational training in a related field and / or metal working is welcome.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Ability to use manual machines, such as lathes, mills or horizontal borers.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require standing and working in various positions.
