Pendennis Keep Connections

"Pendennis Castle: Keep Connections" is a bold £4 million+ project that will transform the iconic Tudor Keep into a vibrant, family-focused destination once again, while restoring its historic fabric for future generations. As the heart of the site and a beloved local landmark, the Keep's closure for essential conservation poses real challenges, but also a rare opportunity. Through imaginative site animation, hands-on interpretation, and sustainable partnerships with Falmouth's creative and community networks, we'll bring the building to life for all audiences. From a scaffold slide and heritage skill labs to co-created storytelling and apprenticeships, this project will connect a wide audience to the past, present, and future of this extraordinary place.

We are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. The role is full time and for a fixed term until November 2027. You'll be working 36 hours per week.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of a programme of activity and events targeting existing and new audiences as part of the Pendennis Keep Connections project. You will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the engagement programme working collaboratively with the wider project team and site colleagues particularly with those in related roles, such as site volunteer coordinator

As Community Engagement Coordinator, you will coordinate the delivery of a programme of pilot activity and events targeting existing and new audiences as part of the 'Keep Connections' project.

You will also be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the engagement programme in the Round One Development phase of the National Lottery Heritage Fund project, working collaboratively with the wider project team and site colleagues particularly with those in related roles, such as site volunteer coordinator, to trial and test engagement opportunities. These pilot activities will form an essential component of a Round Two Delivery phase application.

To be considered as a Community Engagement Coordinator you'll need:

Experience of working in a community engagement setting, ideally within the heritage sector

Experience of working with volunteers and on volunteer-led activities

Experience of developing and delivering activities and events with volunteers, contractors and freelancers to reach new audiences, preferably gained within the heritage sector

Experience of working with diverse communities and hard to reach groups, external partners and community stakeholders.

Experience of using a variety of methods to evaluate the success and impacts of community engagement activities
