About Us

Dangerous Goods International (DGI) is a specialist freight forwarder handling dangerous goods, biological materials, and highly regulated shipments across a global network spanning Australia, South Africa, the UK, Bahrain, Houston, and Frankfurt. We work with clients who need precision, compliance, and reliability every step of the way.

The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Customer Service Coordinator to join our UK team. You'll be the point of contact for customers and suppliers, managing bookings, quotes, and day-to-day communications that keep shipments moving smoothly. This is a hands-on, phone- and email-driven role suited to someone who thrives on accuracy and clear communication under time pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email in a professional, timely manner
Prepare and issue accurate quotes for shipments, liaising with internal teams as needed
Book shipments with carriers and suppliers, confirming details and documentation
Make outbound calls to customers and suppliers to confirm bookings, chase updates, and resolve queries
Maintain accurate records in internal systems (CRM/booking platforms)
Monitor shipments and proactively update customers on status, delays, or issues
Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements (dangerous goods, customs, etc.)
Escalate complex issues to the appropriate internal contact
Build strong working relationships with regular clients and suppliers.

What We're Looking For

Strong attention to detail — accuracy matters, especially with regulated shipments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident and comfortable making outbound calls to customers and suppliers
Experience in customer service, logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / CRM systems
A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Experience with dangerous goods regulations is a plus, but full training will be provided.
