Full job description

Banana Moon Day Nursery is excited to announce the opening of our recently opened new nursery and we are seeking a dedicated and proactive Room Leader to join our team. As a Room Leader in our new nursery, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and develop our early years environment from the ground up, creating a nurturing and stimulating setting for young children to thrive.

Your role will involve leading and managing your room team, planning and delivering high-quality care and educational activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and ensuring excellent communication with parents and colleagues. You will play a key part in establishing our nursery’s culture, standards, and reputation within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of nursery practitioners to provide outstanding childcare and learning experiences.
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum activities based on EYFS.
Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children, parents, and staff.
Monitor and assess children’s development and progress, maintaining accurate records.
Build strong relationships with families and encourage their involvement in nursery life.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and nursery policies.
Act as a role model and mentor for your team, providing training and support as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or relevant childcare qualification.
Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team effectively.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Passion for delivering high-quality childcare and education.
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the nursery.
