Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will have a caring nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a community setting. Previous experience in care homes or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients' residences.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort
Help with medication management and administration as per care plans
Prepare meals and assist with feeding if required
Perform light domestic duties including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
Document care activities accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure personalised care delivery
Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual needs and preferences
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times

Skills

Driving licence and access to own vehicle are desirable for efficient travel between locations
Experience working in a care home or providing home care is beneficial but not mandatory
Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans
Good IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
Organised, reliable, and able to work independently within a community setting
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
