We are recruiting for a skilled Chef de Partie to support the team across Walterz Cafe, Walterz Hub and Newton Hall's Stanley Bar. The successful candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment, serving large private bookings, ensuring the highest standards of food and beverage customer service quality are maintained. This role is perfect for someone who excels at communicating with others in a professional manner to ensure a high quality of customer service is provided to our guests; our vision is ‘to make every day feel like a holiday’.

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and the preparation of high-quality meals. You will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the standards of food safety and hygiene in a fast-paced restaurant environment. If you have a love for culinary arts and thrive in a team-oriented atmosphere, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and measuring.
Assist in the preparation of fresh food and weekly specials.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed consistently.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Participate in menu planning and development as needed.
Completing opening and closing checks and filling out relevant paperwork.
Keep proactive during quieter periods.
Cover holidays/sickness and any extra shifts to meet the business's needs.

Requirements

Proven experience (min. 2 yeas) as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
2 years fresh food experience
Level 3 food safety.
Grill chef experience - preferred.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
A passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
Comfortable with solo work, both in the kitchen and serving.
Experience in serving large functions.
Flexibility between stations.
