Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant to support the development and well-being of children within our nurturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, to promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating setting. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives through engaging activities and personalised support.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism, ensuring their individual requirements are met
Foster a caring and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and emotional growth
Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times
Provide one-to-one tutoring or mentoring as needed to support children's educational progress
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to share information about children's progress and needs
Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe nursery environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

Experience

Prior experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is desirable
Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or special educational needs is advantageous
Knowledge of teaching techniques, tutoring, or mentoring methods relevant to early childhood education
Familiarity with working with children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental challenges
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
A background in special education or related fields will be considered a strong asset
