Overview

We are seeking a professional and personable Night Porter/Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth overnight operations, providing excellent guest services, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and previous experience in hospitality or hotel reception but not essential. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and guest satisfaction are paramount.

Duties

Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures during night hours
Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications efficiently using the hotel's booking system
Handle guest requests and resolve issues promptly to ensure a positive experience
Maintain security protocols by monitoring the premises during night shifts and conducting regular patrols
Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and well-stocked with necessary materials
Record and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the relevant departments
Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, logging incidents, and preparing reports as required
Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery throughout the night

Skills

Proven experience in hotel reception or guest services within the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone manner
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to manage reservations and guest requests effectively
Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy periods or emergency situations
Knowledge of hospitality software systems is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
Friendly, approachable demeanour with a genuine desire to deliver outstanding guest service
Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a scheduled basis, including weekends and public holidays if required

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
