We’re looking for a Communications, Marketing and Engagement Officer to join our Strategic Programmes team, supporting major transformation programmes including Families First Partnership Programme and Best Start Family Hubs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how we communicate change, engage communities and ensure voices are heard at the heart of service improvement.

About the role:

You’ll support the planning and delivery of communications and engagement activity that helps colleagues, partners and residents understand and contribute to key programmes. This includes:

- Developing clear, accessible content across digital and print channels
- Supporting campaigns, launches, consultations and engagement events
- Translating complex policy and service changes into meaningful messages
- Working closely with programme teams, corporate communications and partners
- Using insight and feedback to review and improve communications activity
- Ensuring communications reflect the voices and experiences of diverse communities
What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who brings strong communication skills alongside creativity and organisation. You will have:
- Experience delivering communications, campaigns or engagement activity
- Ability to turn complex information into clear, audience-focused content
- Strong writing and editing skills across formats (e.g. briefings, web, campaigns)
- Experience supporting events, workshops or stakeholder engagement activity
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Experience using insight and feedback to improve communications
- A commitment to inclusive, accessible communication and understanding diverse communities
About the team

You’ll join the Strategic Programmes and Strategy service within Children and Young People, working as part of the Family Hubs / Quality and Improvement teams.

You will report to the Strategy and Change Delivery Lead and work closely with other programme leads, service managers and corporate communications colleagues.

Our work is focused on improving services and outcomes for children and families, delivering major reforms through partnership working and co-design. This role plays a key part in making sure our communications are clear, inclusive and centred on the people we serve.
