Full job description

We are currently seeking qualified and experienced Spectator Safety Tutors, Assessors, and Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs) to support the delivery and quality assurance of the:

Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF)
Other equivalent Level 2 Spectator Safety qualifications approved by recognised awarding organisations such as Highfield Qualifications, HABC, BIIAB, SFJ Awards, Qualsafe or similar.

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for delivering engaging training sessions, assessing learner competence, supporting portfolio completion, conducting internal quality assurance activities, and ensuring compliance with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.

Applicants with an active or previous HABC/Highfield Tutor Number are highly desirable.

Key ResponsibilitiesTutor Responsibilities

Deliver Level 2 Spectator Safety training in line with awarding organisation requirements
Deliver theory and practical sessions professionally and effectively
Support learners with portfolio completion and evidence gathering
Deliver conflict management and crowd safety related content
Deliver optional Physical Intervention unit (where qualified)
Conduct learner inductions, ID checks, and language assessments
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and GDPR requirements
Maintain accurate learner records and attendance documentation

Assessor Responsibilities

Assess learner competence through:
Observation
Professional discussion
Portfolio evidence
Questioning
Witness testimonies
Assess learners against qualification assessment criteria
Provide clear, constructive, and compliant learner feedback
Ensure assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and auditable

IQA Responsibilities

Conduct internal quality assurance sampling activities
Monitor assessment decisions and learner evidence
Support standardisation and assessor development
Ensure compliance with awarding organisation and qualification requirements
Maintain IQA documentation and audit trails
Prepare for EQA visits and support quality assurance activities

Essential RequirementsTutor Requirements

Applicants should hold:

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent teaching qualification
Relevant Spectator Safety qualification or substantial operational experience
Knowledge of crowd safety, stewarding, and event safety procedures
Current ACT Awareness / Counter Terrorism training
Minimum 2 years frontline operational experience within:
Spectator safety
Event stewarding
Security industry
Police
Armed forces
Stadium or venue operations

Assessor Requirements

Applicants should hold or be working towards:

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), or
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, or equivalent A1/D32/D33 qualification

IQA Requirements

Applicants should hold or be working towards:

Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices, or
Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices, or equivalent V1/D34 qualification

Physical Intervention Unit Requirements (Optional)

For delivery of the optional Physical Intervention unit, applicants must additionally hold:

Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training in the Private Security Industry
Level 3 Conflict Management qualification
Current approved trainer certificate for delivery of physical intervention skills
Appropriate insurance cover where applicable

Desirable

Existing HABC / Highfield Tutor Number
Experience delivering Highfield qualifications
Experience with portfolio-based qualifications
EQA/quality assurance experience
Experience working at sports venues, stadiums, concerts, festivals, or major events
First Aid qualification
Knowledge of the Green Guide and spectator safety legislation

Skills Required

Strong organisational and documentation skills
Ability to manage classroom and practical environments effectively
Understanding of safeguarding and equality requirements
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
