Registered Manager – Children's Residential Services

The Bridge Group Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a Children's Residential Home. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated leader who is committed to delivering outstanding care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and children's residential care standards. Candidates based in Wales who hold, or are eligible to hold, dual registration in England and Wales are encouraged to apply. The role will require travel between services where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding.
Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and all relevant safeguarding legislation.
Lead, motivate, supervise, and develop a multidisciplinary staff team, promoting a positive, child-centred culture.
Create and maintain individualised care plans, placement plans, and risk assessments tailored to each young person's needs.
Promote positive outcomes for children and young people, supporting their emotional, educational, social, and physical development.
Build strong, professional relationships with local authorities, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
Manage recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management of staff.
Ensure robust medication management procedures are followed in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and maintain high standards through regular audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous service improvement.
Manage budgets, occupancy, and resources effectively while maintaining exceptional care standards.
Prepare for and successfully manage Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home consistently meets or exceeds regulatory expectations.
Ensure accurate, confidential, and timely record keeping and case documentation.
Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the service.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a Children's Residential Home.
In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within required timescales if applicable).
Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding practices, behaviour management, and trauma-informed care.
Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services when required.

Desirable

Experience opening or developing children's residential services.
Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs.
Dual registration or eligibility for registration in both England (Ofsted) and Wales (Care Inspectorate Wales).
Candidates based in Wales must be willing to travel to services in England where required.
