Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, support food production, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and hospitality are maintained. The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef and managing daily kitchen activities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and team coordination
Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and excellence in all culinary outputs
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu ideas and optimise existing recipes
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and control costs
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and culinary expertise

Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in culinary techniques and kitchen operations
Knowledge of food production processes, menu development, and hospitality standards
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and time management abilities
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of service
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential
A genuine passion for culinary arts, teamwork, and delivering exceptional guest experiences

Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
