Cabinetmaker

At Red Barn Fine Furniture, we are passionate about creating exceptional bespoke furniture and cabinetry that combines outstanding craftsmanship with timeless design. We take pride in producing high-quality, handcrafted furniture built to the highest standards using traditional woodworking techniques alongside modern machinery.

Every project is carefully crafted with precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. From bespoke kitchens and fitted furniture to custom joinery and fine interiors, we work closely with our clients to bring their ideas to life.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a full-time Cabinetmaker to join our friendly and skilled workshop team.

The Role

As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for:

Setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools to manufacture bespoke cabinets and fine furniture.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and workshop plans.
Planning the sequence of cutting, shaping and assembly operations.
Measuring and marking materials accurately from drawings and specifications.
Selecting and matching timber for colour, grain and texture.
Operating woodworking machinery including panel saws, spindle moulders, mortisers, tenoners, planers and other workshop equipment.
Hand-finishing joints and components using traditional woodworking tools.
Drilling and preparing components for assembly.
Gluing, assembling and clamping furniture to a high standard.
Sanding and preparing furniture ready for finishing.
Repairing and restoring high-quality furniture where required.
Fitting hardware including hinges, drawer runners, catches and handles.
Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring a safe, tidy working environment.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

At least 2 years' experience in cabinetmaking or joinery (experience within bespoke furniture or kitchen manufacturing is an advantage).
Excellent attention to detail.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage workload efficiently.
A willingness to learn and continually develop new skills.

Starting from £32,500 negotiable to £40k dependent on skill level and experience
