Full job description

Job Purpose

To safely operate a telehandler forklift to move, lift, and position materials on construction sites while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a telehandler forklift safely and efficiently.
Load, unload, transport, and place materials as directed.
Carry out daily pre-use inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
Ensure loads are secured and lifted safely.
Assist with site logistics and material distribution.
Follow all site health and safety rules, including lifting operations and traffic management plans.
Maintain a clean and safe working area.
Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and other operatives.
Complete relevant paperwork, vehicle checks, and maintenance records.
Support general site activities when telehandler duties are not required.

Essential Requirements

Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler Operator Card.
Previous experience operating a telehandler on construction sites.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Skills and Competencies

Safe operation of lifting equipment.
Strong awareness of site hazards and risk management.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to follow instructions and site procedures.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Working Conditions

Primarily based on construction sites.
Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
May require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet project requirements.

Work Location: In person
