Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hard Landscaper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining outdoor spaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from garden design to large-scale construction sites, contributing to the realisation of beautiful and functional landscapes. A strong understanding of landscape maintenance, construction techniques, and horticultural principles is essential for success in this position.

Duties

Installing hard landscaping features such as patios, pathways, walls, and decking using a variety of hand tools and power tools
Operating machinery including excavators and other mechanical equipment to assist with site preparation and construction
Maintaining existing landscapes through pruning, planting, fertilising, and irrigation system installation and upkeep
Assisting with site clearance, groundwork, and preparation for new landscaping projects
Using irrigation systems effectively to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
Performing routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal operation
Collaborating with team members to plan project layouts and execute tasks efficiently
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

Proven experience in landscape maintenance, construction, or horticulture
Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery such as excavators and power tools
Proficiency in using hand tools for various landscaping tasks
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting, digging, and manoeuvring equipment
Relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture or construction are advantageous but not essential
A valid driver’s licence is preferred for transporting equipment between sites
