Part-Time Bookkeeper (16 Hours per week)

Location: Market Harborough
Hours: 16 hours per week (flexible across 2–4 days)
Salary: £25,500 - £27,500 (pro-rata)

The Business Hut is a growing accountancy practice, helping small businesses with bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and annual accounts compliance. We're looking for an experienced, organised and proactive Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of clients and is confident using Xero to deliver accurate, high-quality bookkeeping services.

The Role

As our Bookkeeper, you'll manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, ensuring their financial records are accurate and up to date.

Your responsibilities will include:

Processing sales and purchase invoices
Reconciling bank accounts
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Assisting with month-end bookkeeping tasks
Liaising with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries
Supporting the wider team with finance administration where required

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has proven bookkeeping experience (essential)
Is confident and experienced using Xero
Has a good understanding of VAT
Has excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Can manage and prioritise multiple client deadlines
Has strong communication and customer service skills
Is proactive and able to use initiative
Will bring energy and enthusiasm to our team

Desirable

ICB or AAT qualified or working towards an AAT qualification
Experience working with multiple clients or within an accountancy practice
