Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food, catering, and culinary arts, and who are eager to gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food service, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
Support the catering team in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment
Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times
Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, including chopping, mixing, and plating
Restock supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen workflow
Support serving staff during meal service periods when required
Assist with inventory management and storage of ingredients and supplies

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and food safety procedures
Basic understanding of meal preparation and food presentation principles
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends or evenings if required
