Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Nurse/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This role combines patient care with front desk responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all patients. The successful candidate will be organised, possess excellent communication skills, and have a genuine interest in providing high-quality dental care. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate patient care, assisting with dental procedures and ensuring patient comfort throughout appointments
Greet patients warmly upon arrival and manage appointment scheduling efficiently
Maintain accurate patient records and update information using IT systems
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and manage appointment bookings or rescheduling
Assist the dental team with sterilisation of equipment and maintaining hygiene standards
Support the administration of treatments, including preparing materials and assisting during procedures
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, managing correspondence, and organising patient files
Communicate clearly with patients regarding treatment plans and post-treatment care instructions

Requirements

Previous experience in a dental setting or nursing is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Strong patient care skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
Basic IT skills for managing electronic health records and appointment systems
Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
A caring attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service
