The Commercial Directorates Personalised Registrations (PR) team sits at the heart of DVLAs income generation, delivering a high‑volume, customer‑focused sales operation across web, auctions and marketing channels. The team plays a key role in translating commercial strategy into effective day‑to‑day delivery, supporting revenue growth and ensuring consistent performance against income targets. This is a fast‑paced, revenue‑driven environment. You will support the optimisation of sales performance, contribute to strengthening commercial activity, and help identify opportunities to improve products, processes and customer experience. Working closely with colleagues and partners across the Directorate, you will provide operational insight, support delivery of business plans, and help manage risk to ensure successful outcomes. Collaboration, strong organisation and a focus on performance are key. This role requires confident decision making, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to driving improvements and delivering results.

Job description

In this role you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery of the Personalised Registrations (PR) sales service, ensuring effective operational management and successful implementation of business plans. You will oversee web sales, auctions, marketing and continuous improvement activity to meet income and customer service targets. You will also provide operational insight to support PR and wider commercial strategies, identify opportunities to enhance performance, and contribute to broader Directorate and DVLA's objectives.

Your responsibilities will include, but arent limited to:

Lead day-to-day delivery of Personalised Registrations (PR) sales across web and auction channels.
Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity.
Implement business improvements and commercial initiatives.
Work with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.

Required experience:

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

Effective team leadership, with experience of managing day-to-day performance, setting clear priorities and supporting individuals to deliver against operational and income targets.
Sound judgement and decision making, with the ability to use data, insight and market awareness to inform decisions, balancing customer, commercial and operational considerations.
Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with experience of building positive working relationships across teams, suppliers and partners to support delivery of shared objectives.
Delivering high-quality operational services, with experience of managing performance, improving processes, and ensuring activity meets service standards, governance requirements and income objectives.

Welsh language skills could be useful in this role, but it is not an assessment criterion, so it wont put you at any disadvantage during recruitment if you arent a Welsh speaker. Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements

Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 35 hours per week.

This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.

The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders. Your designated workplace will be your contractual place of work. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

Some travel to other offices will be required, which may involve overnight stays.
