Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant – Independent Pharmacy (Part Time, 24hrs)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at Ysgol Street Pharmacy, an independent community pharmacy based in Port Tennant, Swansea (SA1).

We are a well-established pharmacy that has recently undergone a full refurbishment and continues to invest in new technologies to improve patient care and customer experience.

Hours: Monday to Wednesday – 24 hours per week.

Pay: £13.21 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience

Opportunity to cover extra shifts.

Training and development opportunities are available for the right candidate.

Main duties (dependent on experience)

Dispensing, selecting and labelling prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
Supporting patients with prescription and general healthcare queries
Providing advice on over-the-counter medicines
Using pharmacy IT systems and operating tills
Receiving, ordering and managing stock
Working as part of a close-knit pharmacy team to deliver excellent customer service

Essential requirements

NVQ Level 1 Medicines Counter Assistant qualification
Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a pharmacy
Accurate, reliable and methodical
Strong communication and IT skills
Passion for customer service and healthcare

Desirable

NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Dispensing qualification
Over 1 year’s pharmacy experience
Stock control and team-working experience

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
