Fleet Compliance Manager - FTC

Location: Gotham

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you passionate about keeping fleets safe, compliant and performing at their best? Do you thrive in a fast‑paced environment where your decisions directly impact operational performance? If so, this could be the perfect next step.

We’re looking for a Fleet Compliance Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract to take ownership of compliance across a large commercial vehicle and trailer fleet. You’ll lead a small but highly effective Maintenance Control Centre, drive down VOR levels, and ensure our fleet operates safely, legally and efficiently every single day.

We’re looking to offer a salary up to £40,000, depending upon experience, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll be doing

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring full legal and operational compliance across our fleet. Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring full compliance of a large commercial vehicle and trailer fleet in line with legal, safety and company standards
Leading and developing a Maintenance Control Centre team of two, supporting daily fleet decision‑making
Monitoring and reducing Vehicle Off Road (VOR) levels to maximise fleet availability
Controlling and optimising maintenance costs without compromising safety or compliance
Working closely with internal teams (operations, finance, senior leadership) and external partners (maintenance providers, regulators, suppliers)
Ensuring all inspections, servicing and defect rectification meet commercial vehicle maintenance requirements
Overseeing compliance with driver’s hours regulations, including monitoring, reporting and corrective actions
Ensuring accurate use of fleet systems, particularly Axscend, for compliance and maintenance tracking
Supporting audits and inspections, ensuring documentation and processes meet regulatory standards
Driving continuous improvement across all fleet compliance processes

What you’ll bring

Essential experience & qualifications

Proven experience in a fleet compliance or maintenance compliance role
Strong understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance regimes
Solid knowledge of Driver’s Hours and DVSA Operator Licence regulations
Current International CPC qualification
Experience using Axscend or similar fleet compliance systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage costs, prioritise workload and make compliance‑focused decisions
Experience leading or supervising a small team

Desirable

Experience delivering VOR reduction initiatives
Background working with large, multi‑site or high‑utilisation fleets
Additional transport or fleet compliance qualifications
