Full job description

Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Location: Nottingham Triumph House, NG7
Hourly Rate: £13.10
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Work Pattern: This role operates on a rotating shift pattern

· Week 1: 7:00am – 3:00pm

· Week 2: 11:00am – 7:00pm

Shifts alternate weekly on a two-week rotation.

*As September is our busiest period, you must be available to work 6 days a week including the weekends (psst.. extra funds to go towards your Christmas shopping!)*

Building: Study Inn – Triumph House, 3 Triumph Rd, Lenton, Nottingham NG7 2GA – 273 rooms consisting of 56 studios and 217 shared apartments with 27 shared cluster kitchens.

We’re looking for an Housekeeping Supervisor to assist the Centre Manager in the smooth day to day running of the centre whilst managing the housekeeping team to ensure they provide high standards of cleaning to our students.

Housekeeping Operations

· Carry out and supervise cleaning of student bedrooms, communal kitchens, corridors, and shared areas.

· Ensure all rooms and kitchens are cleaned and prepared to company standards.

· Identify and report cleaning issues, maintenance concerns, and health & safety risks within bedrooms and communal areas.

· Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across the property.

· Support deep cleaning and turnaround periods during peak occupancy and check-in/check-out times.

Team Supervision

· Organise, support, and supervise the housekeeping team on a daily basis.

· Allocate bedrooms, kitchens, and cleaning tasks to team members efficiently.

· Provide training, guidance, and support to housekeeping staff.

· Monitor staff performance and ensure cleaning schedules are completed to the required standard.

Linen & Stock Management

· Manage linen counts and maintain accurate linen stock records.

· Organise linen storage areas and ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.

· Control and organise cleaning chemicals and housekeeping supplies in line with COSHH and health & safety regulations.

· Ensure all housekeeping equipment is stored correctly and maintained in good condition.

Duty Manager Cover

· Provide Duty Manager cover during annual leave and other absences.

· Support the day-to-day operation of the accommodation during management cover shifts.

· Respond professionally to student queries, emergencies, and operational issues when acting as Duty Manager

· Ensure health & safety procedures and site policies are followed at all times.

Hands-On Responsibilities

· Take an active role in all cleaning duties alongside the housekeeping team.

· Lead by example by maintaining high standards of work ethic, professionalism, and cleanliness

Previous housekeeping or cleaning supervisory experience, ideally within student accommodation, hospitality, residential, or hotel environments.
Strong organisational and team leadership skills.
Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe chemical handling.
Ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks effectively.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
All candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK to be considered

Desirable

Previous Duty Manager or supervisory management experience.
Experience within student accommodation or large residential buildings.
Knowledge of health & safety procedures within hospitality or accommodation services.
