Full job description

Technical Production Coordinator

Role Overview

This is a pivotal role within Redblu Graphics & Displays, bridging the gap between design and build. You’ll take ownership of the technical production process end-to-end, ensuring every project leaves with accurate drawings, correct components, and fully prepared build teams.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Head of Design, you’ll be the key link between design and delivery as Redblu continues to grow.

This role is ideal for someone detail-driven who takes pride in getting things right before they reach site, with the opportunity to grow into full ownership of technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Primary focus:

Technical Drawing & Pack Production

Produce technical packs in SketchUp from approved design files, including layouts, elevations, and component drawings (T3 and Aluvision systems)
Create panel plans for client artwork submission, outlining dimensions, bleed, and file requirements
Generate accurate pick lists from drawings to define build requirements
Review and cross-check packs against pick lists before issue to builders
Maintain and update drawing files as projects evolve, ensuring clear version control
Build a strong working knowledge of modular systems to support increasingly independent pack production

Secondary focus:

Builder Coordination & Liaison

Book and brief external builders upon job confirmation, ensuring they receive full project details and technical packs in advance
Act as the main point of contact for builders leading up to shows, handling queries and communicating updates.
Coordinate travel, accommodation, and access requirements where needed
Track builder availability and flag scheduling conflicts early
Capture post-show technical feedback from site teams to improve future builds and processes

Artwork Checking & Preparation

Review client artwork against print specifications, including resolution, bleed, and format

· Provide clear and specific feedback to the wider team when artwork requires changes, avoiding vague revision requests.

Prepare and issue print-ready files with detailed production specifications
Maintain consistent file naming and version control
Ensure files are correctly set up for in-house print production and output quality

Production & Material Ordering

Collate and place orders for materials, components, and consumables based on approved requirements
Track order status and flag risks to build preparation timelines
Build strong supplier relationships and understand lead times and constraints
Check deliveries against orders and resolve discrepancies promptly
Support cost tracking and reconciliation where required

Stock Management

Maintain accurate stock records across components, consumables, and materials
Manage returns after each show, checking condition and logging any issues
Conduct regular stock checks and report on availability against upcoming demand
Identify reorder points and raise orders proactively
Provide warehouse support to site team to organise stock and prepare upcoming builds

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Strong attention to detail and a technical mindset
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Clear communication with internal teams, suppliers, and builders
Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365

Desirable:

Experience with SketchUp or similar 3D design tools
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Acrobat)
Experience in exhibitions, events, print, or construction environments
Knowledge of modular systems such as T3 or Aluvision
Experience with project management tools (e.g. ClickUp)
Experience managing suppliers and purchase orders
