Full job description

We’re looking for an experienced Butchery Manager to lead our busy store — one of the flagship sites of The Butcher of Brogdale, a fast-growing, family-run business with a reputation for exceptional quality and service.

This is a hands-on management role where you’ll oversee a bustling butchery counter, manage a skilled team, and ensure every customer leaves with top-quality produce and a smile.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all day-to-day operations of a busy butchery department
Lead, motivate, and train a team of butchers and counter assistants
Maintain the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency
Handle stock rotation, ordering, and waste control efficiently
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards
Provide excellent customer service and build strong community relationships
Support senior management with performance, staffing, and sales targets
Help develop new products, displays, and seasonal promotions

Requirements:

✅ Proven experience managing a busy butchery
✅ Strong hands-on butchery skills and deep product knowledge
✅ Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
✅ Able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
✅ Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety compliance
✅ Passionate about quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
