Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Level 3 qualified Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for technical work and problem-solving to contribute to the smooth running of our operations. The position is paid (including over time rate paid at time and half) and suitable for those who thrive in a hands-on environment with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Diagnose faults accurately using diagnostic tools and techniques.
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems in a timely manner.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required.
Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or apprentices when necessary.

Experience

Proven experience as a mechanic in an industrial, automotive environment.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic, suspension, cam belts and electrical components is desirable.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and maintenance software is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are preferred.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. This role offers an engaging environment where technical expertise is valued, and continuous professional development is encouraged to stay abreast of industry advancements.

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
