Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and organised Evening Kitchen & Food Preparation Assistant to join our small, friendly team at The Lounge.

The Lounge is a relaxed cocktail lounge and bistro serving artisan cheese boards, sharing platters, signature tartlets and small plates. This role is focused on food preparation, presentation and service rather than traditional chef-style cooking.

This would suit someone who enjoys working with food, takes pride in presentation and can work calmly and efficiently during busy periods.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and plating our signature tartlets
Creating and presenting cheese and charcuterie boards
Preparing sharing platters and small plates
Managing food orders during service
Carrying out food preparation before service
Maintaining excellent food hygiene standards
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well-stocked
Assisting with stock rotation and wastage control

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a qualified chef, but you should:

Have experience working with food in a café, restaurant, deli or hospitality environment
Have a good eye for presentation and attention to detail
Be able to work independently and use initiative
Remain calm under pressure during busy services
Be reliable and punctual
Hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)

Hours

Primarily Friday and Saturday evenings
Additional shift will be available to cover holidays and for events and private hire
Typical shift times between 4pm and 10pm

Pay

Competitive hourly rate depending on experience.
