Overview

Join our vibrant farm shop team as a Farm Shop Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a welcoming environment for customers seeking fresh, local produce and artisanal goods. In this lively role, you’ll be the friendly face of our farm shop, providing exceptional service, sharing product knowledge, and ensuring the shop runs smoothly. Your energy and organizational skills will contribute to a positive shopping experience that keeps customers coming back for more. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a community-focused operation that values quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products, providing detailed information about items including origin, uses, and benefits
Maintain attractive product displays through effective merchandising techniques to maximize sales and enhance visual appeal
Handle cash register transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change with professionalism and courtesy
Upsell complementary products by suggesting additional items that meet customer needs and preferences
Manage stock levels by monitoring inventory, restocking shelves promptly, and organizing storage areas efficiently
Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate daily tasks and ensure smooth shop operations
Use phone etiquette to answer customer inquiries professionally and provide information about products or store hours

Qualifications

Multilingual abilities are highly desirable; fluency in English.
Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse customers confidently and effectively
Basic math skills for handling transactions, counting change, and managing inventory counts accurately
Strong organizational skills to keep the shop tidy, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times
Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
Ability to demonstrate professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via messaging platforms
Experience in merchandising or retail is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
