JOB TITLE: Senior Housekeeper

REPORTING TO: Head of Care/Clinical Lead /Charge Nurse /

Nurse in Charge/Senior Care Assistant

ObjectivesTo manage the housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure

the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home.

To ensure a high standard of appearance is maintained to contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle afforded to each client. This is particularly applicable to each client’s privacy and dignity and in respect of each client’s personal possessions.

Duties

To clean all allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment
To clean sanitary and other equipment, with particular attention of guidelines for the control of germs and infestation
To report any malfunction of equipment, with particular attention of guidelines for the control of germs and infestation
To deal with the waste bags and their prescribed disposal
To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required

Additional Duties

To liaise any problems to Head of Care/Clinical Lead/Charge Nurse
To ensure stock levels of products are maintained and order these
Check stock of linen store and liaise with Clinical Lead re any items required
Monitor level of work in his/her areas of remit
Ensure all staff are aware of proper procedures for disposal/cleaning of utensils used within his/her area of remit
Delegate areas of responsibilities to his/her staff and complete induction of new staff
Set up monitoring for spring cleaning and duties out-with normal cleaning routines i.e., curtains, moving of large furnishings
Awareness of IPC Manual
Liaise with designated person for infection control, fire awareness, health and safety and liaise any information to other housekeeping/laundry staff
Liaise with Maintenance Officer re repairs
Complete necessary audit forms re housekeeping and laundry
Monitor holidays and sickness for housekeeping/laundry staff and liaise with Head of Care /Clinical Lead
Complete and maintain staff rotas for housekeeping and laundry staff

Pay: £14.26 per hour
